Program Overview

This KNEC‑examined Certificate prepares learners to function as perioperative/theatre technologists. It equips students with essential skills in pre‑operative patient preparation, scrubbing and circulating, surgical instrumentation, infection prevention & control (IPC), and post‑operative care support within the operating theatre team.

Duration & Study Pattern

• Duration: 2 academic years (6 terms)
• Term format: ~12 teaching weeks + 2 assessment weeks
• Weekly rhythm: Theory & labs (Mon–Thu) • Clinical rotations (Fri/Sat)

Teaching & Learning

• Lectures, case studies, theatre demonstrations
• Simulation lab: scrubbing, gowning, gloving, and basic instrumentation
• Operating room drills: patient positioning, counts, and safety checklist use
• Clinical placement rotations in partner hospitals
